Laura Whitfield wins the Horseware Bronze League Qualifier at Aintree Equestrian Centre

With a turn of speed, Laura Whitfield scooped top spot in the Horseware Bronze League Qualifier at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool.

Each of the fifty-four keen starters were looking to book a place in the Horseware Bronze League Semi Finals, which will run in August and with only three qualification spots available, a competitive class unfolded. Two closely fought rounds left just nine combinations to go head to headin the final jump off.

Laura from Haltwhistle, Northumbria jumped a fast final clear round to secure her place at the top of the leader board on her own 7 year-old bay mare, Apricor Sunshine. From an early draw, this pair bagged the win when they left all the fences standing to cross the finish line in an unbeatable 45.60 seconds.

Delivering a treble clear performance, Anjisu Gleave from Preston, Lancashire rode Bellatrix IV, an 8 year-old bay mare owned by Carole Gleave into second place. This combination took a slower line to secure their third clear round in 52.00 seconds.

Taking home third place and the final treble clear of the class was Hannah Goodby-Dudgeon from Onchan, Isle of Man riding Angela Murray’s 11 year-old bay mare, Pembroke Double Diamond. This partnership secured their podium finish in 53.96 seconds.
